Giants coaches and front office officials have done their due diligence on this year’s crop of quarterbacks with Daniel Jones coming off a torn ACL and having missed significant time with a troublesome neck injury. The game-managing Nix has seen his draft stock rise in recent weeks and could land with a QB-needy team in the first round. The Giants likely won’t use their sixth overall pick on Nix, but could trade down and take him late in the first round. That would set up Nix for a training camp competition with Jones. Giants owner John Mara said last month that he wouldn’t stop the front office from taking a quarterback in the draft.
