CeeDee Lamb (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

01 October 2025

No surprises here as Lamb is reportedly expected to miss at least two weeks because of the high-ankle sprain he suffered in Week 3. He did not practice last week and it would be a surprise to see him on the practice field at all this week. George Pickens stepped up on Sunday with eight catches for 134 yards and two scores. He will once again be tasked with WR1 duties versus the Jets this week. Pickens will flirt with a fantasy WR1 ranking for Week 5.

Miles Sanders (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

01 October 2025

Sanders left Week 4 with the ankle injury in the first half and did not return. His absence from Wednesday’s practice puts him on the wrong side of questionable for Week 5 against the Jets. Assuming he can’t suit up, rookie Jaydon Blue will be in line to finally see some action after being a healthy scratch for the first month of the year. Blue is worth stashing in deeper leagues, though he isn’t going to threaten Javonte Williams for the starting role anytime soon.

KaVontae Turpin (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

01 October 2025

Turpin ran as the Cowboys’ No. 3 receiver on Sunday. CeeDee Lamb isn’t expected to be back for Week 5, meaning Turpin was in line for the same role versus the Jets. That is now in question based on Wednesday’s injury report. Ryan Flournoy would seemingly be in line for extra snaps if Turpin can’t suit up this week, though he is a cut too deep for even dynasty managers to care much about.

Saints TE Juwan Johnson (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday.

01 October 2025

Johnson seemingly tweaked his ankle while attempting a cutback along the sideline on Sunday. He reportedly made multiple visits to the training staff but remained in the game. His absence comes at a tough time. The Saints activated TEs Tayson Hill (knee) and Foster Moreau (knee) from the physically unable to perform list.

David Njoku (knee) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

01 October 2025

Njoku had his reps monitored in practice because of the knee issue last week and was cleared from the injury report entirely on Friday. We expect the same routine this week. Coming off a three-target game, it will be next to impossible to trust Njoku in Dillon Gabriel’s first career start. Both he and Harold Fannin Jr. are TE2s for Week 5.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that some league executives don’t expect the Eagles “to trade Brown in-season but said that it could be something to entertain in the offseason.”

01 October 2025

Per Fowler, “Brown’s contract comes with a dead cap hit of nearly $90 million,” which makes a trade difficult, “though not impossible if designated as a post-June 1 trade.” Brown’s “love-hate” relationship with the Eagles’ passing game is reportedly one of the league’s “worst-kept” secrets, and Brown’s frustration with the state of things is apparently “boiling over.” Fowler notes that “a few early-game connections” could assuage Brown’s concerns, but the rela ...

Mason Taylor (ankle) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

01 October 2025

Taylor tweaked his ankle in Week 1 but managed to play through the issue in Week 2. He was then off the injury report entirely for two weeks but is back on it as a limited participant today. This doesn’t appear to be something that will prevent him from playing on Sunday, but it’s clear the ankle injury is going to be a lingering issue for the rookie tight end. Taylor posted a breakout game of sorts in Week 5 with five grabs for 65 yards. He gets another good matchup in Dallas this week, kee ...

49ers ruled out QB Brock Purdy (toe) for Week 5 against the Rams.

01 October 2025

The 49ers will also be without WR Jauan Jennings (ankle/ribs) and WR Ricky Pearsall (knee). All three failed to practice this week. Backup QB Mac Jones (knee) promisingly practiced in full every day. In Jones’ two prior starts this season, he completed 53-of-80 passes for 563 yards, four touchdowns and one interception and rushed seven times for five yards. He belongs on the QB2 radar against the Rams on Thursday night.

Ricky Pearsall (knee) will not play in Week 5 against the Rams.

01 October 2025

Jauan Jennings was also ruled out. Pearsall is dealing with a nagging knee injury that flared up in his Week 4 matchup with the Jags. Per Kyle Shanahan, he felt “instability” in his knee after the game. Pearsall hasn’t practiced since. Kendrick Bourne and Demarcus Robinson are now the team’s top receivers. Christian McCaffrey will look to set the record for targets by a running back tomorrow. Bourne is familiar with the Shanahan system and was already playing a part-time role before this ...

Jauan Jennings (ankle/ribs) will not play in Week 5 against the Rams.

01 October 2025

Brock Purdy and Ricky Pearsall will both miss Thursday’s game versus the Rams as well. 49ers fans will be treated to Mac Jones peppering Kenrick Bourne and Demarcus Robinson with targets tomorrow. Jennings did not practice at all this week, putting his availability for Week 6 in question as well. The mini-bye after Thursday Night Football might be enough for some of the injured 9ers to get back on the field for next week’s game, but it’s simply too early to say right now.

The Commanders are “very happy” with their running back committee, but view Jacory Croskey-Merritt “as the most capable one of the three to emerge as an all-around threat.”

01 October 2025

ESPN’s Dan Graziano adds, “if you have him on your fantasy roster, I’d hold on, because there’s a chance he could be the lead back there over the second half of the season.” He expects Croskey-Merritt’s “role to increase” as “he gains more experience.” The second half of the season is a long way away, but at least there is hope for the seventh-round rookie. For now, he can only be started as a touchdown-dependent FLEX.

Lions S Kerby Joseph (knee) did not practice Wednesday.

01 October 2025

As expected, cornerback D.J. Reed was also listed as a DNP. He is a candidate for injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 4. With multiple starters in their secondary injured, the Lions look like a relatively easy defensive matchup for Week 5. Unfortunately for the Bengals, their offense doesn’t look remotely capable of taking advantage of such a situation.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano reports that the Steelers are “fine if the backfield is led by Jaylen Warren (when healthy) and Kenneth Gainwell.”

01 October 2025

Graziano adds that “the team also believes rookie Kaleb Johnson will contribute before season’s end,” but for now, it is a two-man show. Perhaps the biggest news here is that Graziano still lists Warren ahead of Gainwell after Gainwell totaled 134 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns with Warren sidelined last week. Warren’s knee “just didn’t feel quite right in pregame warmups.” He gets a Week 5 bye to get right before the Steelers take on the Browns in Week 6.

Xavier Legette (hamstring) said he is confident he will play in Week 5 against the Dolphins.

01 October 2025

Legette practiced in full on Wednesday, all but guaranteeing he will be back on the field this weekend. The second-year wideout has missed the past two games because of the hamstring issue. Legette was struggling before going down with the injury, turning 15 targets into just eight yards before Week 3. Needless to say, he is not on the fantasy radar for Week 5.

49ers ruled out QB Brock Purdy (toe) for Week 4 against the Rams.

01 October 2025

ESPN’s Dan Graziano said it sounds like Terry McLaurin “could need another week or two to heal from his quad injury.”

01 October 2025

Graziano adds that “the Commanders will know more as the practice week goes along.” Fantasy managers should prepare for McLaurin to sit out in Week 5, if not Week 6. The Commanders are handling this injury with patience, which is an overall good sign for McLaurin’s availability down the stretch. The coaching staff reportedly plans to continue using rookie WR Jaylin Lane in the slot and WR Deebo Samuel out wide while McLaurin is out. Samuel is expected to revert to frequent slot usage once ...

Alec Pierce (concussion) is practicing in full for Week 5 against the Raiders.

01 October 2025

A full practice means Pierce is nearly out of the league’s concussion protocol. He should have no issues getting cleared before the weekend. His return will send Adonai Mitchell back to the bench. Mitchell committed the blunder of the week on Sunday when the ball slipped out of his hands just as he was about to cross the goal line for a long touchdown. He was also called for a holding penalty on a 58-yard Jonathan Taylor touchdown. This will likely be the last we hear from Mitchell for a while ...

Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said EDGE DeMarcus Lawrence (thigh) is considered “day to day.”

01 October 2025

Macdonald said he doesn’t know if Lawrence will suit up for Week 5, but he did note that Lawrence will not be placed on injured reserve, meaning he is expected to miss fewer than four games. The long-time Cowboy joined the Seahawks on a three-year deal this offseason. Lawrence wasn’t playing every down, but he was soaking up roughly two-thirds of the defensive snaps before going down in Week 4. Per Pro Football Focus, Lawrence has seven stops and eight pressures this year.

Cam Skattebo (knee) is practicing in full for Week 5 against the Saints.

01 October 2025

Skattebo is undoubtedly a bit sore after touching the ball 27 times on Sunday, but a full practice means he is good to go for Week 5. Tyrone Tracy is out for at least one more week, leaving the bulk of the backfield touches to the rookie. Facing an 0-4 Saints squad, the Giants should be able to establish a ground-heavy approach this week. That, of course, means another hefty workload for Skattebo, who is a high-end RB2 for Week 5.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that, “while Cooper Kupp seems entrenched as Seattle’s WR2, [Tory] Horton is giving the Seahawks something to think about.”

01 October 2025

Fowler notes that Horton “has six catches on 10 targets for 74 yards and two touchdowns” and scored a third touchdown on a franchise-best 95-yard punt return. Kupp has been held under 35 receiving yards in 3-of-4 games despite leading the Seahawks’ wide receiver corps with 171 offensive snaps. The fifth-round rookie could see increased opportunities in the coming weeks, though unseating Kupp, who the front office signed to a three-year, $45 million contract this offseason, will not be easy ...
