Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs (ACL) is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

02 May 2024

Diggs tore his ACL in practice on September 21, costing him the remainder of the 2023 season. The Cowboys open camp on July 26, which would be 10 months removed from the injury and right in line with the typical rehabilitation window for ACL injuries amongst NFL players. Diggs recorded 11 interceptions in 2021 and remains a vital piece of the aggressive Cowboys secondary.

Buccaneers declined the fifth-year option on EDGE Joe Tryon-Shoyinka.

01 May 2024

Tryon-Shoyinka’s snap rate fell off over the second half of the 2023 season after starting the year playing nearly two-thirds of the defensive snaps. Former mainstay on the edge for the Buccaneers, Shaquil Barrett, is no longer with the team, meaning Tryon-Shoyinka could see his playing time jump back up in the coming season - a season that could amount to an audition for his next contract.

Cowboys declined the fifth-year option on QB Trey Lance’s contract.

01 May 2024

This only confirms previous reports that the team intended on declining the former third-overall draft pick’s fifth-year option. Cooper Rush served as the team’s backup quarterback a season ago and returns to the roster in 2024, making it likely Lance has another year of emergency quarterback duties while technically inactive ahead.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Tyler Boyd has meetings with the Chargers and Titans this week.

01 May 2024

Boyd spent the first eight years of his career in Cincinnati. The Bengals showed no interest in re-signing him after a quiet 2023 season with 667 yards and two scores. The Chargers, on the other hand, could use a veteran slot receiver to round out their young receiver room. Quentin Johnston did next to nothing as a rookie and can’t be counted on to produce in 2024. That leaves first-year receiver Ladd McConkey and veteran wideout Joshua Palmer as Justin Herbert’s top pass-catchers. The Titan ...

Giants signed CB David Long Jr., formerly of the Packers.

01 May 2024

A former third-round pick, Long spent four years in LA before leaving in free agency last offseason. He signed with the Raiders as a free agent but was released mid-season. Long then had brief stays with the Panthers and Packers. Long will need to carve out a role on special teams in New York to lock up a roster spot.

Bears waive P Trenton Gill.

01 May 2024

Drafted in 2022, Gill ranked last among all punters in net yards per punt last year. He was among the worst punters in touchback rate and punts inside the 20. The Bears drafted Iowa punter Tory Taylor in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Still early in his career, Gill could earn a camp invite from another team this summer.

Colts WR Ashton Dulin said he does not have a timetable for his return from the torn ACL he suffered last August.

01 May 2024

Dulin did say he was feeling good and is at the point in his rehab process where he is ready to return to the field. The former UDFA went for 207 receiving yards and one score in 2022. He also contributed 187 special teams reps. The two-way usage earned him a two-year contract in the offseason. Dulin tore his ACL in training camp last year and missed the 2023 season. As long as it was a clean tear, he should be ready for the start of the 2024 season. Dulin’s days as a dynasty stash are long go ...

Saints signed CB Will Harris, formerly of the Lions, to a one-year contract.

01 May 2024

A former third round draft pick, Harris will leave Detroit after five seasons. Harris had two interceptions in 80 games for the Lions along with 174 tackles as a rotational player. In New Orleans, he’ll join a Saints secondary graded by Pro Football Focus as the NFL’s fifth best.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel “bugged” general manager Chris Grier to take Virginia WR Malik Washington in the 2024 draft.

01 May 2024

Video of McDaniel and Grier confirm that McDaniel had advocated for Washington for several rounds before Miami took the wideout with the 184th overall pick. Washington was wildly productive at Virginia, going for 111/1,384/9 in his first and only season there. He eclipsed 100 receiving yards in an astounding ten of his 12 games in 2023. A shifty YAC maven, Washington should slot in nicely as Miami’s WR3. Commanding targets will be difficult in a passing attack dominated by Tyreek Hill and Jayl ...

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Browns signed Brian Allen.

01 May 2024

Allen was a fourth-round pick by the Rams in 2018 but was released in February. He’s played in 50 career games in Los Angeles, but injuries over the years have limited him to 32 starts and he ended last season on the injured list after suffering a calf injury in Week 15. The Browns have Ethan Pocic at center, but the only other center on the roster is 2023 sixth-round pick Luke Wypler, so Allen could compete for a back-up spot in Cleveland.

Cardinals declined the fifth-year option on LB Zaven Collins.

01 May 2024

The former first-round linebacker heads into the final season of his rookie contract potentially playing for his next deal. Collins was once a fixture in the Cardinals’ defense but saw his snap rate almost cut in half in 2023, the first season with head coach Jonathan Gannon and his unique 3-4, shallow two-high scheme. Collins’ potential departure after the 2024 season could open up additional snaps for 2023 second-round linebacker BJ Ojulari.

Rams signed RB Boston Scott to a one-year contract.

30 April 2024

The fabled Giant killer played the first six years of his NFL career in Philadelphia but was largely an afterthought the previous two seasons with D’Andre Swift in town. Scott, a diminutive in stature scat back, has made the largest impact on special teams throughout his career, which is likely why he was brought into the Rams organization on a one-year deal. In other words, he is likely best left on the waiver wire for the time being.

Pro Football Talk reports the Broncos won’t pick up Zach Wilson’s fifth-year contract option.

30 April 2024

The option would’ve paid Wilson $22.4 million, but that’s much too rich for a quarterback who’s thrown only 23 touchdowns (and 25 interceptions) in 34 games with the Jets. While Wilson will get a chance to compete, the future of the team for now is Bo Nix who the Broncos selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Wilson could benefit career wise from a fresh start and new scene in Denver.

Saints sign OL Shane Lemieux to a one-year contract.

30 April 2024

Lemieux was drafted by the New York Giants in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of the University of Oregon. In four seasons with the Giants, he appeared in 18 regular season games with 12 starts at left guard. Last season, he played in four games for New York with one start at left guard, before suffering a season-ending biceps injury in October. He figures to battle for a back-up interior offensive line spot in New Orleans.

Saints signed Justin Herron to a one-year deal

30 April 2024

Herron was originally drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Wake Forest. He played two seasons with the Patriots and another two with the Las Vegas Raiders, appearing in 35 regular season games with 11 starts. Despite entering the NFL as a guard, he played mostly left tackle and right tackle which adds more versatility to his skill set as he competes for a back-up job in New Orleans.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Browns signed Brian Allen

30 April 2024

Allen was a fourth-round pick by the Rams in 2018 but was released in February. He’s played in 50 career games in Los Angeles, but injuries over the years have limited him to 32 starts and he ended last season on the injured list after suffering a calf injury in Week 15. The Browns have Ethan Pocic at center, but the only other center on the roster is 2023 sixth-round pick Luke Wypler, so Allen could compete for a back-up spot in Cleveland.

Former Broncos and Chargers CB Chris Harris Jr. officially announced his retirement from the NFL.

30 April 2024

The 34-year-old decided to hang it up after he “realized everybody was pretty much moving on with the younger players.” The 12-year veteran will retire with 22 interceptions for 508 yards and four touchdowns. He was most known for being part of the “No Fly Zone,” in Denver along with Aqib Talib, Darian Stewart, T.J. Ward, and Bradley Roby. A group that helped lead the Broncos to victory in Super Bowl 50. Harris was undrafted out of Kansas but played for the Broncos from 2011-19, while ma ...

J.K. Dobbins said he’s recovered from this 2023 Achilles injury.

30 April 2024

“It was like a walk in the park, it was like a sprained ankle,” Dobbins said of his recovery from a torn Achilles. “It was very easy, because I had the knee [injury] — the knee was pretty hard. The Achilles was, I would say, easy, just because that’s my mentality. It was pretty easy to me. I’ve had these injuries.” Excuse us for the skepticism. Dobbins, 25, will be nearly a year removed from his Achilles tear when the regular season starts, but running backs often take longer than ...

Ravens exercised the fifth-year option for EDGE Odafe Oweh.

30 April 2024

Oweh, a former first round pick, is now locked up until the end of the 2025 season. Pro Football Focus graded Oweh as the league’s 30th best EDGE in 2023, as he had nine QB hits and 40 QB hurries in an injury-shortened campaign. He has at least five sacks in each of his three seasons with Baltimore. PFF graded the Ravens as the seventh best pass-rushing defense in 2023.

Browns exercised the fifth-year option for CB Greg Newsome.
