Although Chark is coming off a quiet campaign for the cellar-dwelling Panthers, it is a much-needed addition for the Chargers’ nonexistent receiver depth. Unless Quentin Johnston takes an unexpected step forward, Chark should immediately slot in as the Chargers’ No. 1 outside wideout. He could develop some WR4 appeal with Justin Herbert even if the Bolts go mega run heavy. Chark’s addition isn’t a huge concern for those steaming second-round rookie Ladd McConkey, as their skill sets do not overlap in the context of the Chargers’ needs.
